Film Analysis

Mulan 

Ordinary World: Mulan is a girl that lives in China and she is getting ready to bring honor to the family and so she needs to get ready to be inspected by the match maker and she is not the perfect person to fulfill the requirements and she is not good enough to be a bride.

The Call to Adventure: The Huns have invaded China so one man from every family is suppose to go and fight in war and Mulan's father is the only living man in their family and he has a very bad leg. So Mulan desides to change her physical apperance to look like a man and take her fathers place to go fight the Huns.

Refusal of the Call: Mulan has second thoughts about doing this right before she is about to enter the camp of the other men who are going into war also. She is practising to talk like a man and practise caracteristics of a man right before she goes in.

Meeting The Mentor: While she is practising to be a man her mentor appears and her mentor is a very small dragon named Mushu. He came because he was suppose to get a guardian of the ancestors and failed so he decideds to help Mulan with her quest to impress the Ancestors. So Mushu shows up and helps convince Mulan that she can do this.

 Crossing the Threshold: So Mulan finally feels confident to go into the camp and be accepted by the other guys. Finally walks into the camp feeling confident or at least ready.

Tests, Allies, Enemies: So right when she gets into the camp the head leader all ready does not like him (mulan, HER) So she has all these men that do not like her because of a stupid fight they had that got them into trouble. Plus she did not relize how hard it was going to be to do it immotionally and physically. She finally digs deep and accomplishes all the things that they have needed to accomplish in the time she was in camp and is ready to set off to help other men fight the Huns.

Approach to the Inmost Cave: So her and the rest of the men in the camp are headed off to help other men fight the Huns. They relize when they were going to meet up with the other men that the Huns have already came to them and have died. So they head the direction where the Huns are headed to stop them before they head to the emperor. So they catch up to the Huns and they fight the Huns and Mulan shoots a mountain of snow and all the snow covers the Huns and Mulan and their men think they have killed the Huns and they find out that mulan is a girl because of a wound. So normally a women that does that should be killed but they dont kill her and mulan sees that Huns did not die and are headed to the emperor.

The Ordeal: So Mulan decides to head after them and stop them from killing the emperor. So she gets down there and her men that were with her at camp dont believe her that the Huns did not die. So the Huns take the emperor. While this happens Mulan maps out a plan to save the emperor and they get up to the room where they have take the emperor and fights the main guy of the Huns and saves the emperor. She plans for her to get onto the roof with the bad guy and have Mushu shoot a firework at the bad guy to kill him. Which it does but also blows up half of the emperors palace.

The Reward: So after Mulan killed off the main guy of the Huns the emperor gave Mulan a reward. Her Reward was that the whole kingdom bowed to her even the emperor and also the emperor gave her the sword of the Huns leader. The emperor also gave her a necklas pendalum to show what she has done for china and the emperor.

The Road Back: Mulan is worried to head back home because she desobeyed her father and she is worried that her father will be upset with her. I think she is worried to go back to the way she was before.

The Resurrection: Mulan gets back home and she shows her father all her rewards and her father is just happy that she is alive and safe.

Return with the Elixir: Mulan is back and she is not like the way she was before and now her family has honor. Plus Mushu was accepted by the ancestors and now is a guardian.

My Christmas Wish

Mom decided to get down on her knees and ask the father "to help my family". All Mom wanted for Christmas was for her family to get together and get along. Thanksgiving went by and Christmas came along and they came over and got along and she was so happy.



Blurbs

Just a dream- Carrie Underwood: There is a girl and a boy that get married in a church really young. After they get married he goes off to war and dies not to long after. So his body is sent back to be buried back home. She is very upset and says multiple times that she was counting on forever and that she will never know what that will be like.

Teardrops on my guitar- Taylor Swift: This girl is friends with this boy Drew but she is secretly in love with him. But Drew is in love with another girl and has no idea that the girl likes him. Drew always talks about this one girl that he likes and she is upset and can`t stop thinking about her.

Our Song - Taylor Swift: It is about a girl and her boyfriend. They are driving in the car and she has an upset look on her and he asks her whats wrong and she says " I was just thinking how we don't have a song"
and he explains to her that we do that our song is sneaking out late, talking on the phone late at night, etc.

BBQ-Tim Mcgraw: There is this 17 year old guy that goes down to the county fair for labor day weekend and he meets this girl in the ticket line. So they go out and skip rocks on the rail road tracks and he explains that he had a barbeque stain on his white t-shirt and she had a mini skirt and red lip stick. Then after it was over and five years later he was on a plane to see some friends in New orleans and he saw her and they remembered the past.

Live like you were dying- Tim Mcgraw: There was man in his early 40s and he is in the hospital bed and has found out that he has cancer and his friend asks him what is it like to get that kind of news and he says that it makes you want to do everything you never got to do in your life and do it.  He also said I hope you have the chance to live like you were dying. His whole perspective of life was different after he got that news.

Just a dream by Carrie Underwood

                           
Plot: This girl gets married and her husband goes to war and dies. His body is sent back home to be buried.

Character: There is a girl who gets married to a boy who is in the military. The members in audience of the wedding and funeral. Military men shooting gun shots at funeral.

Conflict: The girls husband gets killed in war.

Theme: She did not realize that he may die in war. She probably thought that he would never die and they would live happily ever after, forever.

Setting: In the car. At the church for the wedding. At the funeral.

The Impulse #2

Rachel has been noticing some weird things about her boyfriend David. A couple weeks ago he did a marathon and his secretary susie ran it with him and he hugged her when they finished the race and not Rachel.  Also last friday he could not have dinner with Rachel because he had to stay late to work on some things he was behind in. So Rachel comes up to his office to surprise him and take him to lunch and she see`s David with his hands around her helping her with the printer. She says:

R: What the crap is this?
D: Rachel what are you doing here?
R: I came here to take you to lunch. What are you doing?
D: I am helping Susie with the printer.
R: ya right ?! Its over were done!
Rachel runs out and starts running to the elevator and David chases after her and meets her at the elevator and David says:
D: Rachel, what is wrong? Why are you saying its over?
R: because I saw you with your arms around her.
D: WHAT! No I was helping her with the printer and I was helping pull papers out.
R: Ok whatever. What about the time you ran the marathon and you hugged her and not me.
D: I did not know you were there and I was just giving her a hug saying "good job, we did it".
R: Well what about the time you did not come to dinner because you said you had to finish some work. Was she there with you?
D: Yes but nothing happened we were just working on work.
R: ok why should I believe you?
D: Because I love you and you should trust me
R: Fine but you are going to have to swear that you don't have anything envolved with her.
D: I swear I don't.
R: Fine I trust you. So where does this put us?
D: I thought we were still together?
R: Ya we are

The Beat

Well first of for Mr. Nelson thanks for the comment that sounds like it would be better to do that. That sounds like a good idea. Well when it comes to the action it could of been better I could have made more action with the scene and also with the conflict. I could have made them fight more and make them have more conflict then it does. With the event I think it had an event and him and her definetly got what they wanted. I think I could of also done it in the office and made it better, from an idea from nelson. But I do think I could of had her brake up with him and have them fight in more ways then others. I also thought I ended it to quick she did not fight back and be strong all she did was... ok you were not cheating on me then I love you again. I know that was not a good way to end it. Hopefully I can get it to have more action, and more conflict in the next impulse.

The Impulse

A woman at the bus station sitting on a bench, waiting for a bus to come. A man running to the bus station while it is pouring rain outside. Finally ends up at the bus station and says....

Man- Stop!! Don't leave
Woman- Why not
Man- Because I love you
Woman- Then why did you cheat on me.
Man- What I did not cheat on you
Woman- yes you did, I saw you proposing to your secretary susie earlier. I came to your work to surprise you and take you to lunch and I heard you proposing to her.
Man- haha. No what happened was, I was going to propose to you at dinner tommorow night and I was practicing with susie so that I could get everything right when I proposed to you.
Woman- Oh!?!? I thought....
Man- Honey I am sorry you thought that I was cheating. But I am not. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?
Woman-  YES! yes! yes of course I will.
Man- I love you
Woman- I love you too.

Bad Poetry

Rockade

I wanted to make lemonade

But I did not have any lemons

So I thought I would use rocks

I tried to squeeze them and get the juice out

But nothing came out  

So I was kind of bummed.

My Pen Name

The pen name that I have chosen is H.R. in alpine. The reason I chose this name was because my Dad always says to me all the time that I am an H.R. which for a long time I did not know what that meant. Finally I asked what that meant and it means a hopeless romantic. So everytime my dad would see me watching a chick flick he would say "you're such an H.R." I always thought it was so funny. So I decided to call my pen name H.R. in alpine. Some things that I like to do is play sports, movies, hang out with friends and family.
